In the latest announcement of the "2025 Advanced-Level Smart Factory List"by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Mona Lisa Group's smart factory has successfully been included. Only 90 enterprises across the province passed the stringent review to obtain this certification, marking the group's official entry into the provincial advanced-level smart factory echelon and establishing it as a benchmark example within Guangdong's smart factory gradient cultivation system.
This list is part of the joint national and provincial initiative to promote the gradient cultivation of smart factories. According to the "Implementation Rules for the Gradient Cultivation Management of Smart Factories in Guangdong Province,"smart factory construction is divided into four levels: foundational, advanced, excellent, and pioneering. The advanced level requires the factory to be fully constructed and stably operational, with its smart manufacturing level leading within the same industry in the province.
Stepping into Mona Lisa's smart factory, AGVs, robotic arms, and the WMS (Warehouse Management System) work in efficient synergy, building a flexible logistics system that achieves unmanned and precise flow of body storage and transportation. In the critical area of quality control, Mona Lisa's self-developed "Industrial Vision Ceramic Defect Intelligent Detection System"stands out: this system can scan surface defects with an identification accuracy of up to 99.8% and an extremely fast speed of only 0.5 seconds per tile. The detection data links in real-time with the laser marking system, assigning a unique traceability QR code to each tile, truly achieving the stringent goal of "zero missed inspections"for product quality.
Transformation of traditional industries goes beyond simply "replacing humans with machines"; it requires building a modern industrial system. Mona Lisa's digital-intelligent transformation has long surpassed the scope of a single factory, integrating digital channels across design, raw materials, logistics, and more. It has created eight major smart scenarios, achieving comprehensive coverage of production operations, quality control, and operational management.
This selection as a Guangdong Province Advanced-Level Smart Factory is a mid-term milestone in Mona Lisa's digital-intelligent transformation strategy. Its ultra-large slab digital-intelligent demonstration workshop boasts a numerical control equipment occupancy rate exceeding 90% and an automation level over 90%, leading to a 30% increase in production efficiency, a 66% reduction in frontline operational workers, and a 50% decrease in defect rates. Behind these achievements lies Mona Lisa's decade-long effort benchmarking against "Lighthouse Factories"and continuously strengthening its digital-intelligent transformation technology system.
Mona Lisa's digital-intelligent transformation began in 2014, demonstrating foresight a decade ahead by taking the lead in tackling the building ceramics industry's "three highs"dilemma (high energy consumption, high pollution, high cost).
During the 2014-2020 foundation period (equipment iteration and production line reconstruction), Mona Lisa focused on the core strategy of "replacing manpower with machines."It completed the full-process automation transformation of the ceramic thin slab demonstration workshop (Foshan Xiqiao Base) and built an intelligent production base with a daily output of up to 200,000 square meters (Guangxi Teng County Base), continuously enhancing the automation level of production lines across major bases to achieve breakthrough progress in the efficiency revolution. Entering the 2021-2025 acceleration period (full-chain digital integration), Mona Lisa benchmarked against "Lighthouse Factories,"focusing on four major modules: marketing digitization, operational management digitization, smart manufacturing digitization, and logistics modernization. It promoted the digitization of the entire enterprise scope—production, supply, sales, people, goods, and scenarios—achieving a leap from "experience-driven"to "data-driven."
A distinctive feature of Mona Lisa's digital-intelligent transformation lies in incorporating environmental governance into its digital-intelligent management system. Through real-time monitoring and control of emissions during production, it ensures green and low-carbon production activities. All four of its major bases have been recognized as "National Green Factory Demonstration Units,"setting a paradigm for green transformation in the industry.
From being a Foshan City first-level digital-intelligent demonstration factory in 2022, to a national-level typical case of smart manufacturing and digital transformation in the building materials industry in 2023, and now a Guangdong Province Advanced-Level Smart Factory in 2025, Mona Lisa, driven by the three cores of intelligence, digitalization, and greenization, has become a significant upgrade benchmark for the building ceramics industry within Guangdong's smart factory gradient cultivation system.
The attainment of this honor signifies that Mona Lisa's digital-intelligent transformation has entered a crucial stage, steadily advancing toward the goal of a "Lighthouse Factory."With technology as the core, creating new quality productive forces for the traditional industry; with digital intelligence as the blade, reshaping the genes of traditional manufacturing; and with green practices as the foundation, building a better industrial ecosystem. Mona Lisa is leading the building ceramics industry toward a more intelligent and green future with its visionary perspective and pragmatic actions.
